I've grown by being faster with making art and creating original ideas. My first art I copied from somewhere while my second image was purely original. I used lines to create the face and the flowers. I also used repetition of some of the flowers. I filled the spaces with solid water color paint. I used the technique of dry brush to give my flowers more color. I also shaded on the figure and added highlights to the hair. I got faster at creating this because they both took me a class period but there's more progress on the second one.

I learned to make original art works. I used the one color black to make 2 paintings. For the landscape painting I used a contour line to outline where the mountains would go. Also used directional lines to show the mountains going upwards. I also used the repetition of my brush stroke to mimic trees. For my line painting I left a lot of negative space to make it look simplistic. I also had line variety, since some of my brush strokes are thicker than others.
Finished product: clay sculpture of foot
I used clay to make the foot. I started with plastic clay and used coils to create the toes. I also used the method of score and slip to attach the toes to the main body. I used slabs to create the main body. I used a needle tool to make small details. Then I used a kiln to harden all these sculptures and then glazed them all.
Watercolor painting- person balancing on tire Acrylic painting of ZhengHe's Armada, copied from national geographic Clay sculpture of foot... IN PROGRESS Clay sculpture of hand... IN PROGRESS I learned more techniques during these 4 weeks. I learned how to properly do shading for acrylic paintings. I also learned how to be more neater while doing paintings. I need to work on ore original ideas because one of my paintings is copied. However my hand and foot are completely original. I learned how to make diagrams and make sculptures based on that. I also learned how to manage my time.
I have learned many things in the beginnings of Art I. I have learned how to use charcoal to blend and create images. White charcoal can also be used to make highlights. I also made a chinese ink painting through learning how to do ink washes and brush strokes. I created these drawings by looking at similar pictures and semi recreated them. I need to work on generating more original drawings though. I also tried the subtractive method of cutting cardboard to create pictures with exacto knives. I have also made my very first collage out of bird clippings from magazines to create something that amuses me.
